How many Pieces and Categories May I Enter?
Each entrant is allowed to submit up to three (3) pieces in up to three (3) categories, for a possible maximum of nine (9) total pieces. NOTE: This number doesn't include the "before" images for the categories requiring them. We only count the "after" or final images. A "piece" is described as being BOTH the "before" and "after" images, when applicable. Please see the Guru Awards Full Terms & Conditions for more information.
How Do I Enter the Competition?
Simply fill out and submit the Entry Form on this page any time once submissions open and before 11:59 pm Eastern Time (ET) on August 19, 2022. Your Photoshop World conference registration must be paid in full before entering, and your submitted work(s) must be sent within the submission period to be considered by Guru Awards judges. Submitted work(s) sent after 11:59pm Eastern Time (ET) on August 19, 2022 will not be eligible for Guru Award consideration. Please see the Guru Awards Full Terms & Conditions for more information.
Can I Re-Submit Work That I’ve Changed After Submitting?
Please make sure your original entry is complete, final & accurate before submitting. We cannot accept re-submissions or revisions to pieces that have been sent as part of an entry. If you happened to make a mistake and sent the wrong file contact us with a brief explanation. Replacement of your entry piece(s) with the revised file(s) is not guaranteed.
What Are the Prizes?
Each category will have 1 winner, and we will select one best of show winner. Each winner will receive a Guru Award Trophy, recognition at the closing ceremony, and some really cool prizes from the Official Sponsors (a value historically up to $500). Please note that due to customs and taxations issues only winners with a valid Continental US shipping address will receive the physical trophy (within 4-6 weeks after the announcement). What Are the Image Format/Size Requirements?
Images that you send with your entry form should be: In the .JPG, .JPEG, or .PNG file formats | No larger than 3MB in file size (each). Please see the Guru Awards Full Terms & Conditions for more information.
Who Is Eligible to Enter?
Any* Full Paid Conference attendee (18 years of age or older) of the Photoshop World Conference is eligible to enter. This is a special competition held exclusively for Photoshop World Conference attendees. It is not open to the general public or KelbyOne members who are not attending Photoshop World. * Employees (and their immediate families) of Kelby Media Group/KelbyOne, LLC and/or its respective affiliated companies, subsidiaries, advertising agencies or third party fulfillment agencies are not eligible to enter. Can I Remove My Entry From the Competition?
Using the submissions form, you can remove your entire entry before 11:59pm Eastern Time (ET) on August 19, 2022.

What Are the Entry Requirements?
To be qualified for judging, your complete entry must meet all of the following requirements:
- All final images in your submitted entry must be original works created by you, in their FINAL states (re-submissions are not allowed). Modifying, enhancing, or altering someone else's existing artwork does not qualify as an original creation, however legally-acquired stock photography may be used and modified in your entries
- Your entry should be comprised of up to three (3) pieces in up to three (3) categories, for a possible maximum of nine (9) total pieces.
- The images you submit with your entry form should be in the .JPG, .JPEG, or .PNG file formats; No larger than 3MB in file size (each).
- Entered pieces should not contain nudity or criminal behavior/elements (e.g., illicit drug use, murder, etc.).
- For submissions in the Compositing category, you must provide the "original" or "before" versions of any and all resources that were used to create your final work(s), along with source information. This can include un-edited photos/film, stock photos, designs/vectors/artwork, etc. You may compile these source materials into one image (as a collage) when adding it to your submission form, but you may be asked for the separate, original source material(s) later, at the discretion of the judging panel (so please retain them).
Is There an Entry Fee
No. Any full paid Conference attendee of the Photoshop World Conference may enter the contest (excluding Kelby Media Group/KelbyOne, LLC employees and members of their families). Please see the Guru Awards Full Terms & Conditions for more information.
When & Where Will The Guru Award Winners be Announced?
The top three submissions for each category will be notified by email prior to the conference and asked to provide a high resolution version of their submissions. The winners will be announced at the Guru Awards presentation during the Conference Wrap-up/Guru Awards Ceremony held on the last day of the Photoshop World Conference. There will be no prior notification of the actual winners and all winning entries will be secret until their official announcement. How Will Entries Be Judged?
Selection will be conducted by KelbyOne's in-house creative team. The panel will consist of any or all of the following: KelbyOne Instructors, professional photographers, creative directors, art directors, web designers and/or graphic designers. If your image is selected to be a finalist, KelbyOne will contact the entrant by phone or email on or before August 30, 2022. Please see the Guru Awards Full Terms & Conditions for more information.
