Photoshop World West 2019 | August 21st – 23rd | The Mirage Las Vegas
Work Hard; Play Hard
We know that if you’re having fun, you’ll learn more, connect more, and get more out of your time at Photoshop World; which is why we planned so many opportunities for you to socialize and meet new people. We all need "Photoshop friends" so we have several events planned that get attendees together in a casual and fun atmosphere for networking and recharging our brains after being in classes all day. From dinners to parties, the meet-up to inspiring nights, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Come to one or come to all! Check out all of our events below:
We kick off the conference with a fun, high-energy opening keynote, and when Adobe takes the stage, they often sneak peek some really cool new technology or new products, and the excitement sets the tone for the entire conference. You don’t want to miss it (because everybody will be talking about it)!
Drop by The Still—in The Mirage Las Vegas—to hang out and have a few drinks with the Photoshop World instructors and crew. The meet-up is held the day before the conference begins, after our In-depth workshops, and is conveniently located within our host hotel. Food & beverage available, but not included.
It was such a big hit last year that we’re bringing it back again this year! We work with local photographers to create hands-on shooting experiences right in the middle of the action. You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with these photographers shooting everything from portraits to food. It’s free and included with your full conference pass.
The PSW After Party
Join Scott Kelby and BIG ELECTRIC CAT for the most talked about after-hours event of the conference! There’s no better way to let loose and unwind after a packed day of learning. Mingle with the Photoshop World instructors and your fellow attendees while making some memories - it'll be a night to remember (plus, you can always sleep when you get home, right?). Purchase your ticket today.
An Evening with Joe McNally
Join Joe McNally, internationally acclaimed photographer, for an evening you’ll be talking about for years. Joe is known not only for being one of the top technically excellent photographers of his generation, but also for his charming demeanor, confidence, and humor. He is the sought-after choice from CEO’s, celebrities, commercial and magazine clients alike and now he's here to show you his work and offer slices of reality amidst the hectic pace of trying to shoot pictures and please clients.
If you’re lucky enough to snag one of the 200 free tickets to this late-night event, you’re in for a hilarious evening of surprises, laughter, prizes, games and fun, which has become legendary among Photoshop World Alumni. Hosted by none other than the conference ringmaster himself, Scott Kelby, and special guests. Tickets are given out show site the morning of the event, on a first come, first served basis.
Dinner With a Stranger
If you came to Photoshop World alone, you won’t be that way for long. We’ve planned dinners at four yummy casual restaurants nearby—Stop by the attendee information booth, pick a restaurant, pick up your “I’m a Stranger” button and enjoy the relaxed setting of a shared meal with 11 other people just like you. It’s a fun way to meet new people and make new friends.

The Guru Awards - Submit Your Work to Become A Photoshop World Guru!
The Guru Awards are a special Photoshop contest just for attendees of the Photoshop World design and photography conference, which was created to honor and recognize the design, photography, retouching, and creativity of our attendees. Since their humble beginnings in 1999, the Guru Awards have now become the most prestigious and coveted awards in the international digital imaging industry. Watch the video to see some of our past winners and to see what Scott Kelby, President & CEO of KelbyOne has to say about the Gurus. Attendees may submit up to three individual pieces per category, in up to three of the following categories:
Land or sea, urban or nature, big or small — this is landscape photography. Grab your camera and start shooting the world around you. Shots may include nature, travel, and architecture.
This category covers all portrait and people photography. Whether you like to shoot in the studio or outside. Whether you prefer brides, grooms, babies, families, natural light, fashion, or lifestyle
Not a landscape or portrait photographer? Then this is the category for you. This category is open to all photography whether it be macro, pets, sports, you name it.
Submit pieces that demonstrate your ability to enhance an original photograph by removing distracting objects or improving color, composition, depth and general aesthetics.
If your skills and passions move outside of photography then we would love to see your 3-D designs, ads, illustrations, hand-drawn or painted art, and typography.
Composites (Montages) are collaged pieces, which are made up of a combination of elements from multiple photographic, photorealistic, or 3D sources.
This category can include images that have been edited or created with Photoshop. They could be digitally painted over, added to with 3D or have been modified with plug-ins or filters.
A shout out to all first-time attendees. This category is open to all categories and was created to give the Photoshop World newbies a chance to compete against other newbies.
