Sports Action Shoot: Skateboarding, with Dave Black | 11:00pm - 4:00pm

Join Dave Black for a live sports action workshop, held on location at a local indoor skateboarding venue. Attendees will learn how to shoot the action of athletes skating the rails and bowls. Dave has made special arrangements so that workshop attendees will "own" the skateboard park during the workshop hours so that special access and unique images can be achieved. Recommended Gear to Bring: 35mm DSLR or mirrorless camera, cards, extra battery, short wide angle lenses are best: Fisheye, 14-24mm, 16-35mm, 24-70mm are my favorites. 70-200mm is also useful. Knee Pads are a good idea as you will likely "get down" on the concrete to achieve a "heroic" angle of view of these Dudes and Dudettes. Optional: use of Flash might be possible. Feel free to bring your own Speedlight, Strobe and light stand, or ask a classmate to hold the flash for you.

With all the tools, menus, and options in Photoshop, it can be overwhelming when you start to learn it. Learn best practices, how working non-destructively can save time, and the basics of working with layers, adjusting images, and retouching photos. Rather than give you “recipes” or a series of step-by-step instructions, this class will help you understand key functions in Photoshop and how (and when) to use them.
