Sports Lighting Commercial Shoot

This lecture/demonstration class will teach you how to approach strobe lighting for a large sports action scene. This will be a live commercial shoot scenario with a world-class athlete in action. Attendees will gain knowledge and specific techniques on how to light a large action scene using strobes, soft boxes, grids, backdrops, etc. Dave will answer questions throughout the set-up and shooting process. This class is for any photographer interested in learning commercial or editorial lighting techniques and protocol.

Practical information of how Dave approaches his lighting projects, along with insightful strategies, unique equipment applications, and personal commentary will be featured throughout this instructional class. Note taking is encouraged.

This session covers an understanding of image compositing techniques from start to finish using several photographic elements to create the multi-image photo-illustration. Emphasis will be on the creative use of Layers, Layer Masks, Blend Modes and Photoshop Plug-ins to blend images into a easy formula for creating the final art.

Panoramic Stitching

Learn how to successfully shoot and stitch multi-shot panoramas. While this might sound simple, there's so much to know, including:

• How to find the nodal point of any lens and why it's important to rotate the lens around that point
• Dealing with gaps in a long panorama
• The camera settings that are essential to producing a successful panorama
• Creative panorama techniques for those times when you don't want a "plain Jane" panorama
• How to best incorporate filters such as a polarizer, neutral density and more
• Methods for producing the sharpest and highest quality results
• How to even out the sky so it matches from side to side
