Joe Glyda

Joe Glyda is a Commercial photographer based out of Tulsa, OK. He has been in the photography business his entire life and retired from Kraft Foods as the Digital Imaging manager in 2009. But don’t think for a second that retirement after 36 years of service has slowed this photographer down. His energy level and his enthusiasm about photography are infectious to anyone he meets. He continues to shoot food and commercial products, as well as teaching and inspiring individuals about photography and the roles photographers need to uphold to keep their creativity alive.

Joe has received both his Master and Craftsman degrees from PPA and is a Certified Professional Photographer, and received the Nikon Industrial Photographer of the year award back in 1995, and the Gold Medallion Award in 1999. He also teaches at Texas School of Professional Photography and has been on the instructor team at Photoshop World since 2001 and currently has 2 on-line classes on Food Photography with Kelby training.

This live shoot will demonstrate food photography like you've never seen it before, covering everything from a barbecue grill to a "do it yourself" project to the the ever-popular flying salad! Joe has been working with food for over 35 years and he, along with a food stylist, will give you an insight into this incredible field of photography.

Both photographers and designers alike, incorporate design and composition into their imagery. Understanding the basics of design and learning how to use the composition elements in this imagery can enhance every piece of artwork. Once they elements are mastered, the rules can be broken to create images that have additional impact.
