Guru Awards Photoshop Contest

Guru Awards | Rules

The Guru Awards are a special Photoshop contest just for attendees of the Photoshop World design and photography conference, and were created to honor and recognize the design, photography, retouching, and creativity of our attendees. Since their humble beginnings in 1999, the Guru Awards have now become the most prestigious and coveted awards in the international digital imaging industry.

Any conference attendee may enter up to three pieces for judging in any one (or more) of the seven categories, including Artistic, Photography, Photo Restoration, Commercial, Photo Montage, Photo Retouching, and Illustration. There is no entry fee for conference attendees and only conference attendees may enter.

The winner in each category of the Photoshop contest is awarded with a Guru Award trophy (shown here), as well as a special prize from B&H, this year’s official sponsor. For finalists in each category; your work will appear in a special gallery on the Photoshop World Expo floor.

Winners will be announced “live” during a special Guru Awards presentation at the Awards Celebration & Conference Wrap-Up. There will be no prior notification of winners, and all winning entries will be secret until their official announcement during the Awards Celebration & Conference Wrap-Up. Thursday, August 13, 2:30 – 3:30pm

There is a special category, the Vincent Versace Award for Digital Photography Excellence, which is presented to one entrant in the Photography category, and this winner is chosen by Mr. Versace himself. A special trophy and a 24×30 signed print from Vincent is awarded.

A Best of Show winner of the Guru Awards Photoshop contest is selected from all entries. The winner is awarded the Best of Show trophy and receives grand prize from B&H.
