Countdown to PSW

Photoshop World is just 12 days away! As you can imagine, things are pretty busy here… so busy, I haven’t had a chance to update the blog… until today! Meep!

So, let me make it up to you with a whack of PSW news:

• Can’t join us at Photoshop World? Be sure to join us here (on the PSW blog) for the LiveBlog of the PSW Keynote. It’s the next best thing to being there. Plus, you’ll be the “almost first” to know when it comes to the latest news from Adobe and NAPP.
• If you haven’t reserved a room yet for your stay in Orlando… Ummm, what are you waiting for? We just received word that our official host hotel, the Rosen Centre, is completely booked. If you’re still looking for a room, you can always try their sister hotel, the Rosen Plaza.
• If you haven’t been to Scott Kelby’s blog, you might not know that we are on the verge of selling out on every single optional pre-con workshop! Go to Scott’s blog for more on this year’s pre cons and a couple videos from the “Photoshop Guys” about their classes.
• If you’re staying on “I-Drive” and you want to get around. The easiest ~cheapest~ way to do it is via the IrideTrolley. Only $6.00 for a three-day pass! See their website for stops, operation times, etc.
• If you have an iPhone and you don’t have the Photoshop World app, go get it… now! NAPP’s first official iPhone app has landed and it’s all for Photoshop World! “My Photoshop World” puts every minute of PSW at your fingertips with five sections and a high level of customization to make it your own. Get instructor and class info, pick your classes, create a customized schedule, and never miss a moment of PSW with a built in map, PSW blog reader, Twitter hashtag feeds, and countdown timer to your next event! After you download and explore this app, please feel free to send Shawn your feedback and suggestions.
• We’ve created a “countdown to Photoshop World” widget for your blogs and websites. You can also share it on Facebook, Twitter and a host of other social media sites. Get it here. Also, we can update this countdown clock on the back end so we will be updating it for the Las Vegas event and changing out the graphics for each PSW here on out.
• If this is your first Photoshop World (or even if it isn’t) we’d love for you to join us for the free PSW Orientation session hosted by NAPP Director, Larry Becker, on March 23. This special session is designed to give first-time attendees a little “101 guide” on what to expect during PSW and how to get the most out of their experience. There will also be a “Q & A” session at the end in case we miss anything. here are two PSW orientation sessions scheduled for pre-con day (Tuesday, March 23), at 3:15pm or 5:15pm in room N320 E-H at the Orange County Convention Center. There is no pre-registration required for this session and any registered PSW attendee may attend. Just show up and get a jump-start on the PSW excitement. Not only will Larry give you some great PSW advice but it’s also a great chance to meet some fellow attendees.
• Do you use Twitter? Are you following the #PSW Hashtag? If so, we hope you will join us for the PSW “Tweetup” on March 23rd between 8pm — 11pm. This year’s Tweetup is going to be our biggest yet and word on the street is that Adobe will be there to show all our social media savvy members something new. Want to know where the tweetup will be? Follow @NAPP_News and the #PSW hashtag to find out.
• Watch the PSW blog throughout the event for updates from our guest bloggers, all fellow NAPP members, who will be giving you their insights and reviews on the event.
• Do you live near the Orlando area? If so, be sure to check out the Car Wrap giveaway on the Expo floor. You could win a free car wrap from your business!
• It’s not too late to upgrade and get more from your PSW experience! There are 11 Pro-passes and 18 After-Hour party tickets left! We got so many compliments on the NAPP backpacks that we use for the pro-pass, so we brought ‘em back. Call 800-738-8513 to upgrade your PSW ticket with one of these items or a pre-con.
• Wanna learn more about the people behind Photoshop World? Fellow NAPP member Firgs has been running an interview series on her blog. Here’s a link to all the interviews published so far. Get a little insight into life here at NAPP HQ. (Shameless self promotion alert) The first interview is mine.
• …and last but certainly not least, from the buzz I hear around NAPP HQ, Midnight Madness is going to be off the chain! All I can say is that we had to move it to a bigger room for all the “props.”
